Award: CAMPAIGN AWARDS \ C30. Australia/New Zealand PR Campaign of the Year

Endometriosis is a very painful and debilitating condition that affects a woman’s reproductive organs – 1 in 10 women suffer from the condition – it has little awareness and no government funding.

After learning members of our staff suffered from endometriosis at an agency retreat we decided to do something about it. We created a public affairs campaign that secured historic first-ever government funding.

Bringing together interested parties from health groups, universities, charities, influencers and Ministers of Parliament, we drove collaboration across Australia to form the Australian Coalition for Endometriosis and a ‘Friends of Endometriosis Parliamentary Group’. We commissioned the countries first-ever research into the scale of the condition and its impact on the women it effects (and their families), which provided us with a platform to create significant cut-through.

The campaign led to numerous parliament speeches, government meetings, culminating in a formal apology to the women of Australia from the government and Health Minister, the development of a national health plan to tackle the condition and a historic $2.5m being allocated to research.
