What do you think happens when a country goes from less than 10 percent mobile phone penetration to more than 100 percent in a matter of a couple short years? For most Myanmar people, this connected and sophisticated new world we live in is still very foreign so criminals took note and came after this “soft target” through international gateway scams.

In this campaign, the agency used content to unite the companies in the most competitive industry in Myanmar (telecommunications) in their first ever joint communications initiative. The agency created a bank of open source content for all operators in Myanmar to pull from and use offline and online to educate the public about scam calls and cybercrime – this content was used by operators, partners and media to develop content to equip the Myanmar public nationwide with the information to protect themselves and loved ones from being exploited.
